Amman, June 22, 2011—The 21st Middle East Technology Show (METS 2011) concluded its activities in Amman on June 20. The show has showcased the latest solutions by three well-established international technology providers: Fujitsu, Lexmark, and Brother. The annual show was held under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint Al-Hassan, President of both Al-Hassan Scientific City and the Royal Scientific Society. The show took place at the Business Park in Amman and continued from 15 until 20 June 2011.
Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Lexmark, and Brother participated as a platinum sponsor under the umbrella of their local partner General Computers and Electronics (GCE). Technological solutions introduced by the three companies had a significant presence at the show, where each company has a separate booth to showcase their latest solutions in the Jordanian market.
Ms. Rana al-Eid, Area Manager at Fujitsu, expressed her admiration for this year’s show saying, “This year’s show came with a new image, a new perspective, and a new identity; and it represented a valuable opportunity to showcase our latest solutions in Jordan as well as the regional market”.
“The show has also shed some light on the role of the Jordanian institutions in supporting ICT startups,” she added.
METS 2011, in its 21st edition, is considered the biggest and most varied ICT trade show in the Middle East region. In this regard, Mr. Julien Greigs, Area Manager at Lexmark, said, “This year’s show informed its attendants as well as all the related parties about the latest interactive computing technologies; and we, at Lexmark, considers it a must-attend event.”
For his part, Mr. Amit Ali, Area Manager at Brother, said, “Brother Industries Ltd. is keen to participate in such events in order to build more and more professional relations with stakeholders and inform the related parties about its latest solutions.” “The exhibition is considered highly important since it stands as an annual meeting point for major CEO’s and industry experts, providing the right environment for concluding agreements, exchanging expertise and communicating with decision makers,” he added.
